The East Kent Light Blues Brothers were proud to play their part in this year’s Whitstable Harbour Day, joining brethren from across the Province to help showcase modern Freemasonry to thousands of visitors.
Working alongside the Whitstable Masonic Centre and the Provincial team, the day formed part of the Building Together initiative, encouraging Masonic centres to become more visible and more connected with the communities they serve.
The response from the public was exceptional. Throughout the day, 166 people visited the Masonic Temple, with many taking the opportunity to ask questions, explore the building and learn more about Freemasonry in East Kent. Alongside the Temple tours, our East Kent Light Blues stand provided an opportunity to talk to visitors about the club and the important role newer and younger Freemasons play in the future of the Province.
Assistant Provincial Grand Master and EKLBB President W.Bro. Graham Chisnell said:
“Great to see the East Kent Freemasons and the East Kent Light Blues Bros out in force today at the Whitstable Oyster Fair. Hand in hand also with the OWF brethren. Thank you to the brethren of the Whitstable Centre, the National Coast Watch, EKLBBs and all who supported this event.”
Incoming Provincial Grand Membership Officer W.Bro. Nigel Mann added:
“A terrific day both at the Whitstable Masonic Centre and by the team with the Provincial Gazebo at the harbour. So many engaged and enthusiastic visitors – the feedback was brilliant from everyone that I spoke to. A wonderful representation of East Kent Freemasonry.”
The success of the day was only possible thanks to the dedication of the many volunteers who gave up their time to welcome visitors, answer questions, guide tours and demonstrate the warm, friendly face of Freemasonry.
A special thank you goes to past EKLBB Chairman Bro. Steven Ford and his team for organising such a successful event, and to every Brother who represented East Kent Freemasonry with enthusiasm, pride and friendship throughout the day.
Events like this remind us that the best ambassadors for Freemasonry are its members. By opening our doors and engaging with our communities, we continue to build understanding and ensure that Freemasonry remains relevant and visible for generations to come.
