On October 16th, Worshipful Brother Trevor Carter will be invested as the Provincial Grand Master and Grand Superintendent of East Kent. This prestigious event, occurring only once roughly every eight years, takes place in the Grand Temple at Freemasons Hall.
Who Can Attend?
For the Craft ceremony (Provincial Grand Lodge), only Master Masons can attend, as certain parts of the opening and closing mirror the third degree ceremony, and so you need to have completed your third degree to have learned the secrets restricted to this degree. Fellowcrafts and Entered Apprentices may join us for lunch, but cannot attend either ceremony.
Royal Arch companions of any rank who have been exalted may join the Royal Arch ceremony (Provincial Grand Chapter).
What Time Is It?
For Provincial Grand Chapter, attendees should be seated in the Grand Temple by 11:40am
Lunch will follow afterwards in the Connaught Rooms at approximately 2:00pm
For the Provincial Grand Lodge, you need to be seated in the Grand Temple by 4:10pm
What Shall I Wear?
Wear exactly what you wear to any lodge meeting: a dark suit, a white shirt, and dark shoes.
For the tie, you have three options:
- A plain black tie
- The Cornwallis tie (available here)
- The striped “One Journey” tie” (available here)
The Masters, Wardens, Past Masters of Lodges, Principals, Past Principals in the Province to wear Collars and Jewels of Office.
