EKLBB Blue Table – Wednesday 29th March

On Wednesday 29th March, we’re holding a get together at The Racing Greyhound Pub, Ramsgate. We will be sitting down for Dinner at 7:30pm. Due to each attendee paying separately for what they consume, it’s requested that you bring cash if possible.

The format of this event is ‘Blue Table’ which means members of the EKLBB Club may invite their non-Masonic friends who may be interested in hanging out with Freemasons & finding out more about what we do. Whilst this event is being held in Area 8, we would like to encourage all of our members from across the Province to attend. Due to the informal nature of this event, there isn’t a dress code.

Please Book In With: SteveFreemasonColleran@yahoo.com

Whilst this is a non-ticketed event, we would ask that you book in with Steve Colleran as if we hit a certain number, the venue will give us a private room. Below are a few useful details followed by an explanation of why we’re holding this event.

Explanation

Many of us are aware that some members of Freemasonry only interact with their Lodge. Some socialise with their Centre but most do not socialise with other Masons outside of their Group/Area. The EKLBB Club continues to give us all an excellent opportunity to interact with Light Blue members across our Province.

The EKLBB Club is constantly evolving due to your greatly appreciated feedback. We’re still in the ‘beta testing’ phase of our ‘Ambassador’s Role’ initiative, however nearly every Area has now been assigned a ‘Lead Ambassador’. The ‘Lead’ for Area 8 (Thanet) is Steve Colleran who has been tasked with arranging this event. All leads will eventually be asked to hold similar events.

This micro event initiative is being trialled in 3 formats: Blue Table, White Table & EKLBB Members only. This ‘Blue Table’ event is the first format we’re offering. The other two will be trialled in the Folkestone & Sheppey areas.

If you would be interested in holding a similar event, please contact me & we can discuss how we can implement your idea(s).

Accidental Recruitment!

If you have a friend that has or hasn’t thought about joining Freemasonry, BUT you think it would be a good fit for their personality or where they’re in their lives right now, you may want to ask them to join you at this informal event.

We know that at least 8 men applied to join our Province last year due to EKLBB events they attended. As you’re all aware, our Province is actively working hard to attract new people to the Craft. In the photo below is a small group of the gentlemen who went for a drink after the Archery event last year. Four of these gentlemen are now joining our Province this year due to this event & the social gathering at the pub afterwards

One of the gentlemen had previously been invited to a ‘White Table’ event & had felt afterwards that Freemasonry wasn’t for him, HOWEVER, after attending the Archery event, the camaraderie he witnessed inspired him to search for a Lodge that would suit him. Two of the other chaps at the table were already wanting to know more about Freemasonry & the lads did a fantastic job answering their questions. The last chap only attended as he had never tried Archery & had never entertained the idea of Freemasonry let alone joining it, but once again, he was blown away by our bonds of friendship!

Sincerely & Fraternally,

Bro. Steven Ford (Membership Officer)
